Overview

Nasikia Camps are an intimate collection of mobile and semi-permanent camps located in the prime wildlife viewing areas of Tanzania’s northern safari circuit – experience the wilds of Tarangire, the incredible herds of the southern Serengeti plains, the wildlife-filled central areas and a short drive to the gauntlet of the Mara River.

Itinerary

DAY 1 ARUSHA

Meet at arrival point and transfer to your lodge for pre-safari briefing.
RIVER TREES COUNTRY INN (Dinner)

DAY 2 ARUSHA - LAKE MANYARA

We transfer into Lake Manyara for morning game drive and lunch, a classic safari pic-nic, and enjoy our final glimpse of the great wilds of the Northern Tanzania. Lake Man-yara offers an insight into the Great Rift Valley system and the adaptation of many herd animals and magnificent birdlife. We continue Esilalei Maasai Village to explore the area and our school project. In the late afternoon, we zig zag our way up the Rift Valley Escarpment and then into the lodge for overnight.

DAY 3 LAKE MANYARA – NGORONGORO – CENTRAL SERENGETI

Today we drive up to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Ngorongoro is collapsed volca-no - an incredible natural amphitheatre, 25 km across and teeming with all of the African big game. Early morning descent into the crater for spectacular scenery and game viewing in what has been described as the eighth wonder of the world. In the late afternoon we drive directly to the Serengeti! Game drive in the rolling grasslands. Criss-crossed with forested riverine valleys, the Serengeti plays home to millions of Africa’s large mammals, making this one of the world’s most famous wildlife destinations Camp.
NAONA MORU CAMP (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 4 CENTRAL SERENGETI - NORTHERN SERENGETI

Today we transfer up to the northern part of the Serengeti to experience the great wildebeest migration. By early July, the first zebra herds are arriving in the northern Serengeti and big herds of wildebeest following later in the month. In a dry year, the first wildebeest could be near the Mara River by early July - in a wet year, by mid-August. However, typically from the mid July to mid-October the wildebeest reside in the northern Serengeti and Masai Mara. After a full day of game drives, we continue to the Camp for dinner and overnight.
KASKAZ MARA CAMP (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 5 NORTHERN SERENGETI

We enjoy a further exploration of the northern part of the Serengeti. The habitats are natural and we can game drive with a picnic lunch to explore further afield. We continue to track the breathtaking wildebeest migration with an annual movement of approx. 1.2 million wildebeest and 600,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomason gazelle.

DAY 6 NORTHERN SERENGETI - CENTRAL SERENGETI

Further morning game drive in Northern Serengeti,then back to central Serengeti for game drive and exploration. In the late afternoon we continue to the Naona Moru Camp for dinner and overnight.

NAONA MORU CAMP (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 7 SERENGETI -TARANGIRE

We transfer out of the Serengeti, passing through Oldupai Gorge. We enjoy lunch and a view of the archaeological sites (and visit the museum) where early human tools and fos-sils have been found. We set off in the direction of Tarangire National Park and arrive to our camp for sunset. This camp provides us with a classic bush experience that ensures intimacy.
TARANGIRE NDOVU CAMP (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 8 TARANGIRE – ARUSHA - BEYOND

Early morning game driving in Tarangire National Park; this park is famed for its massive elephant herds, true sense of wilderness and backdrop of baobabs. This is true Africa and the perfect way to end our adventures. You are then transferred to Arusha and your de-parture point or lodge (Breakfast, Lunch)
