The northern tourism circuit is by far the most popular safari circuit in Tanzania, comprising most of the must-see destinations in the country. If you’re a first-time visitor to Tanzania, this is where you want to be. The circuit starts in Arusha and includes, from east to west: Arusha National Park at the foot of Mount Meru, Tarangire National Park 110km southwest of the town of Arusha, Manyara Ranch between Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara National Park, Lake Manyara National Park at the bottom of the Gregory Rift, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (which includes the Ngorongoro caldera, the Empakaai Crater and the southern Serengeti plains of Lake Ndutu), and the Serengeti National Park that stretches north to the Tanzania/Kenya border.
Meet at arrival point and transfer to your lodge for pre-safari briefing.
THE AFRICAN TULIP (Dinner)
We transfer into Lake Manyara for morning game drive and lunch, a classic safari pic-nic, and enjoy our final glimpse of the great wilds of the Northern Tanzania. Lake Man-yara offers an insight into the Great Rift Valley system and the adaptation of many herd animals and magnificent birdlife. We continue Esilalei Maasai Village to explore the area and our school project. In the late afternoon, we zig zag our way up the Rift Valley Escarpment and into the Ngorongoro crater highlands for overnight.
PLANTATION LODGE (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
We depart after breakfast to the endless plains of the Serengeti. Upon entering the Serengeti, we are able to game drive all the way to our special camp area. The Lodge is permanent, taking full advantage of the incredible resident wild-life in the central areas of the Serengeti National Park.
KUBUKUBU TENTED LODGE (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
We enjoy further exploration of the endless plains. The habitats are natural and we can game drive with a picnic lunch to explore further afield. There are resident cats and herd animals for us to observe.
KUBUKUBU TENTED LODGE (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
We transfer out of the Serengeti, passing through Oldupai Gorge. We enjoy lunch and a view of the archaeological sites (and visit the museum) where early human tools and fos-sils have been found. We set off in the direction of Tarangire National Park and arrive to our camp for sunset. This camp provides us with a classic bush experience that ensures intimacy.
MARAMBOI TENTED CAMP (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Early morning game driving in Tarangire National Park; this park is famed for its massive elephant herds, true sense of wilderness and backdrop of baobabs. This is true Africa and the perfect way to end our adventures. You are then transferred to Arusha and your de-parture point or lodge (Breakfast, Lunch)
